HORRENDOUS!! Crores given by governments on cricket players on winning the world cup. I'm surprised that we are poor when it comes to distributing crores among victims of accidents,calamities or wars.

Is winning the world cup actually a matter of pride??? - I thought the indian govt is at closed hands, poor, wen it comes to distributing money for the victims of accidents, wars or calamities....but this is HORRENDOUS.!!!


"Delhi CM has awarded M S Dhoni Rs 2 crs and also decided to give 1 cr each to Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Virat Kohli and Ashish Nehra for winning the World Cup"

"Maharashtra CM announced award of Rs 1 cr each for Sachin Tendulkar and Zaheer Khan"

"Punjab Deputy CM said Harbhajan Singh and Yuvraj Singh will be given a cash award of Rs 1 cr."
and much more...

guys...m happy we won the world cup. our team deserves it. but this is horrendous...we don't have money to offer to victims of railway accidents, calamities or wars...but from whr this has come?? isn't this our public money and shouldn't the people decide??

    I could not agree more!
    Do these players really require all this money? It would have been a novel idea of giving all that money to charity with the name of the players on it (Similar to what KBC with the celebrity earnings). It could have been a win-win situation for everyone.

    Even the news channel, which claim to devote so much effort in unearthing all the sting operations and scandals have not said anything about it. These acts actually portray that they are just another marketing organizations!
